   Why celebrities? Because after 230+ years, there’s still no consensus about what goes into the ability to govern. Why not smart people? Because it’s good to be smart but it also encourages someone to tell their constituents things they don’t want to hear.

    For all practical purposes, the only NFL player with a contract guaranteed beyond one season is DeShaun Watson. (Rumors have it that contract made the other owners angry) Sometimes it’s impractical to cut the player in the first few seasons because of their contract and the salary cap. Teams and players can insure themselves against injury but the premiums are?? For the typical player, the rule to live by is that the only money that is truly guaranteed is the signing bonus.
